Sous Chef / Head Chef (Tapas bar in kerry)

Sous Chef / Head Chef required for a Tapas Bar & Restaurant in Kerry.
Located on the beautiful Ring of Kerry, This Wine and Tapas Bar will offer a genuine, informal but top quality tapas eating experience, allowing customers to taste a number of wines by the glass or bottle. Many of our wines we import directly from Spain.
The beautiful old building has recently been redeveloped and is now fitted with kitchens, 2 bars, a stage for live music and a mezzanine and outside eating area.
It is located near Killarney, Many beaches, lakes and rivers are within easy reach of this area.
The Position
We now have an excellent opportunity for a head chef. Candidates should have experience within a similar quality environment. Previous experience in a Spanish Tapas Bar or Restaurant is desirable.
Essential Experience, Knowledge, Attributes and Skills of Head Chef:
1+ year Experience in a Spanish Cooking Environment and 2+ years as Sous or Head Chef
Sound knowledge of Spanish Cookery and particularly Tapas
Creative flair for food
Ability to manage a team in a busy environment
Excellent people management skills
Efficient purchasing, costing and cost control and stock control
Experience in the set up and management of an efficient and effective HACCP system in the kitchen
Pre-opening experience would be desirable but not essential
Report to General Manager
Terms and Conditions:
Working week will involve 5-6 days.
Split shifts not required as only open night service
Salary depends on experience. From €30,000 + per annum
Holiday pay of 8% paid at end of season if season is complete
Accommodation can be arranged for the first month of employment and we can help find longer term accommodation.
Transport form Spain to Killorglin can be arranged
Salary: €32,000-€45,000 (depending on experience)
