full time Buyer, Tipperary - 12 month contract

Our client - successful manufacturing plant requires a Buyer to join their team on a 12 month contract.

BUYER

RESPONSIBILITIES

•Management and control of purchasing activities
•Expedites and follows up the purchase for the requisitioner until the products and services are delivered to the requisitioner.
•Monitor vendor quality and delivery performance through the continuous quality improvement process
•Manage Inventory levels to achieve targets on excess and inactive inventory.
•Develop and implement written processes and procedures for purchasing department in line with ISO requirements.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 2/3 years experience in a demanding purchasing / scheduling role within a fast paced manufacturing environment preferable.


Business degree or APICS certificate with IIPMM status preferred. Good understanding of other materials functions, especially material requirement planning (MRP), inventory control and accounting preferred.

Knowledge of computerized purchasing and MRP systems.

Excellent communication (verbal and written) and proficient computer software skills including SAP, AS400, Word, Excel, Power Point, Lotus Notes.
