Technical Support Desktop Windows Server Engineer needed urgently now for Dublin 2 based client is undertaking substantial new product developments and continuing to service the requirements of our existing customer base by developing innovative software using structured and formal methodologies.
If you have 1 -2 years Technical Support Desktop + SQL Database experience & hands on IT hardware, this job will be for you. It is in Dublin 2. Excellent Start. Salary starts at Euro 25,000 with bonus + alot of hands on Training. Very Urgent.

Candidates will be highly motivated and pro-active looking to expand and enhance their experience and skills in a fast paced, young and dynamic organization.
They will have worked in the industry for four years in relevant disciplines or will have graduated with a computer-related qualification.
Communications:
A detailed knowledge of communications strategies, methodologies and physical options such as GSM, GPRS, 3G, PSTN, ISDN, WIFI is very important.
A detailed knowledge of setting up firewalls, VPN and secure network architectures over wireless and Ethernet was would be useful but not essential.
Database Experience:
A strong knowledge of relational database products is essential, ideally Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere & Microsoft SQL Server, however experience in other database products such as Oracle or any other industry standard RDBMS would suffice. The candidate must be skilled in the use of SQL as a language and not just having installed the software.
You must have good SQL database Script writing & SQL batch script writing programming experience.
Operating system/platforms:
Experience on all Microsoft Windows platforms is essential, with a good detailed knowledge of security policies within Windows NT, Windows 2000, or Windows 2003.
Software and Products:
The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products MS Office strong experience is a must have skill.
Whilst not being essential is highly desirable if the candidate has worked with the following Products:
NetSupport, PC Anywhere, WinZip, Sybase (Adaptive Server Anywhere), Access, Install Shield, Wise Install Builder, Crystal Reports, Terminal Services.
Hardware Skills PC Support Skills Needed:
It would be useful if the candidate was familiar with configuring computer hardware, tasks such as:-
• Configuring a new server from new, installing and configuring OS
• Setting up multiple disk configurations RAID, Mirror, Volume strip etc.
• Configuring PC cards
• BIOS configurations
• Network setup
• Wireless Networks setup
Salary is €25,000-27,000 with in-house, hands on work, and some client site work.
