Based near Dublin City Center our many years established client, which in the corporate offices has an internal LAN network of over 100 users on Windows Server, & an additional 50+ notebooks.
The IT Manager opportunity is a newly created position, as until recently all IT support has been handled by a 3rd party MS Partner, & on the basic level this will continue to happen. As well as other 3rd party IT suppliers & software vendors being used.
Senior C Level Management have created the new role IT Manager, as it will be a goal & ongoing project of streamlining & integrating many company IT & Software systems, currently separate, into an efficient, streamlined, integrated IT system. This new appointment is a position of change & modernization of all IT systems, structures, applications, procedures, business systems to drive the company forward, invoke cost savings, & allow management through modern data reporting IT corporate level applications, to access & analyze data in a total & integrated fashion.
The new IT Manager, will report directly to the CFO who in his own department has injected massive modern change & practices, which has had successful major positive effect on profitability & efficiencies. Over the next 2-3 years the CFO envisions a similar role & career progression for the IT Manager.
It is important to note this IT Manager position will not involve building a team of IT Support nor will it involve man managing a department of people. Technically the IT Manager will be expected to get hands on as & when needed to, put in the hours, & the IT Manager will work with external vendors & suppliers when outside help is needed. You will be very hands on technically from a Windows Server, LAN network, which you will be able to run support, as well as software & hardware applications. You technical IT skills must be excellent, as you will have to stand alone on your experience.
In addition to his, you must have excellent solution orientate vision, a full understanding of the business side of IT & how IT can drive profitability in major company, & you will be tasked with making his happen. You will report directly to the CFO & Senior Directors, who will rely on your ability to analyze the business & redesign & modernize all aspects of the whole IT system.
This opportunity will allow you to go in to a major established company & change, modernize & put you on stamp to the total redevelopment of the IT system, & business.
We are not looking for an IT Manager, who wants the more "traditional" view of what an IT Manager is or does, where people, team, staff management & delegation, in a technical hands off style is the desired position. The position of IT Manager is a stand alone position & there will be no team building or recruiting a group of IT Junior Support Staff, as this is neither the goal nor aim of this newly created position of change.
This will suit a keen hungry technical IT professional, who has the opportunity to make & lead & plan great change, & hands on will lead, & no task will be beneath or above, vision wise a technical IT mind & a sound commercial business understand is essential, as is project experience.
Perhaps the ideal candidate would be a System Administrator in a large company who has business experience & roles in their job beyond just the technical, & may assist the IT Manager with business related tasks. Perhaps a Junior IT Manager who is very technical & wants to spread their wings, with this very rare blank slate career opportunity.
