Our client, one of the world’s largest cultural and educational tour operators, is looking for a Manager, Travel Operations in Lucerne, Switzerland.
As a Manager in Travel Operations, you will be responsible for a multi-national team of five to seven Airline Inventory Managers, with the objective of producing cost efficient flight solutions for North American travelers, through group travel consolidation, inventory control and optimal utilization of airline contracts, while adhering to budget and quality targets. The position involves close cooperation with your counterparts and our client's sales and land operations departments in both their Lucerne and Boston offices, as well as regular contacts with their airline suppliers in the U.S.
We believe you should have the following qualifications:
-A university, or similar post-secondary, degree
-A minimum of 2 years management experience within the travel industry
-Previous experience from airline negotiations and/or other vendor relations
-Previous experience working in an international environment is preferred
We also believe you should possess the following skills, all of which are essential within our client's company:
-Superior stress management skills in a deadline driven environment
-High level of attention to detail while always recognizing the big picture
-Strong analytical skills in order to recommend strategies for optimization and cost savings
-Advanced communication skills while collaborating in a team environment across several nationalities
-A high degree of entrepreneurial spirit together with a natural killer instinct!
