Fund Accounting: Supervisor
The Challenge
The Supervisor of the Fund Accounting team will lead a team of Fund Accountants working with a number of Hedge Fund clients. The role will involve supervising the team, allocating workloads and managing priorities ensuring deadlines are being met. The Supervisor of the Fund Accounting team will also have a client facing role, handling and resolving any issues with the clients and also working closely with the auditors ensuring all requirements and standards are being adhered to.
The key responsibilities of the team are as follows:
-Preparing fund valuations.
-Carrying out cash and holdings reconciliations between the Accounting System and the Custodian/ Broker.
-Liaising with internal and external parties on pricing and reporting issues - Shareholders Services team, Investment Advisers and Custodians / Prime Brokers.
-Assisting in the audit process for the funds.
-Assist the Financial Reporting Department in the preparation of financial statements.
The Candidate
The candidate will have 2 years + experience working in a similar funds role, preferably hedge funds, ideally with some supervisory experience. The candidate should have the interpersonal and supervisory skills needed to supervise and motivate a team of people. He / she must be degree qualified in a business / accounting discipline, be numerate and computer literate with a good working knowledge of Word and Excel.
